Psalm 24:1
The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world,
and they that dwell therein. KJV
I was considering several options concerning what should follow my last post. While looking through some material for something else altogether, I accidentally pulled up a post from my first blog. Upon reading it I realized it would be a natural follow-up to my previous post featuring the pamphlet authored by Charles Capps, Created to have DOMINION since speaking and dominion go hand in hand.
All I'll add concerning the re-post at this point is though I had deeper instruction in the correct use of our words in 2013, I have had degrees of success over the years since, as well as some obvious failures! Moreover, it's more than a rote education in changing how we speak and our choice of words; it requires first and foremost a transformation of our heart and only the Living Word and the Spirit can do that....and as Jesus said, out of the heart the mouth speaks. So without further explanation the re-post follows.

A Speaking What?
I’ve been looking forward to this entry for a while but wasn’t certain how to present it, but since it’s such a foundational truth (as far as I’m concerned) if we’d like to understand more about how God created man to function in His Likeness, I decided it’s time to go for it.
In my June 25, 2013 entry entitled Three Lives? I posted some information regarding the plural form of the word “life” which was used in Genesis 2:7. Here’s the original King James Version of that verse:
In my June 25, 2013 entry entitled Three Lives? I posted some information regarding the plural form of the word “life” which was used in Genesis 2:7. Here’s the original King James Version of that verse:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And here’s how it reads if you replace the word “life” with the plural form as it is in the original Hebrew:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives; and man became a living soul.
So man became a “living soul” once God breathed the breath of lives into him making all 3 parts of man-his spirit, his soul and his body-one living being created in God’s own likeness. Genesis 1:1 confirms through the Hebrew translation this very fact. In sharing what Derek Prince wrote in his bookWar in Heaven, I wrote that plural nouns or pronouns normally require a plural verb, but in Genesis 1:1 this is not the case at all:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (my emphasis).
Here, “God” is plural (Elohim) while “created” is singular establishing God as a Triune Being though functionally One, so in His likeness He created man to be as He was and is. Unfortunately this oneness-along with complete contentment and satisfaction in their whole being because of their union with God-ended with Adam and Eve’s choice to follow the deceiver’s voice rather than God’s.
I’ve written all this in order to share another discovery found in those few words contained in Genesis 2:7, but first I want to say how captivated I am by the precision of it all-the amount of revelation packed in such a few words-how interesting, and very impressive in design has everything been laid out, both in the actual creation and in the use of words to describe it accurately!
Now, finally, another secret intimated in the use of the words “living soul” in Genesis 2:7. This bit of information comes from The Stone Edition of the Chumash, a Hebrew commentary which includes comments from the Sages-Jewish scholars. I’d heard of this particular reference from several sources over the course of a few years before I decided to look into it and see for myself. The following is what I found. One of the Sages says that the soul mentioned in verse 7 was made a “speaking spirit”, because only God could “blow” into man a rational soul which includes intelligent speech.

Once again, here’s the verse as it is written in Genesis 2:7 King James Version:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And here’s what it looks like with the inclusion of the information we’ve discovered:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives; and man became a speaking spirit (emphasis mine).
This information confirms to me the fact that we, Man, were indeed created in God’s likeness, having been given dominion and authority as stated in Genesis 1:26-29. And how else was man to have dominion over the earth and the creatures God created, except by speaking words even as God had dominion and created by speaking? All authorities rule with words, Kings, lawmakers, police officers, judges, magistrates of all kinds. Look around in everyday life. Bosses rule over employees, teachers over classrooms, doctors over patients. Those in authority rule with words! Just look through the Bible and see how important words are. However, we, mankind, were never meant to have dominion except under God’s perfect understanding and authority while in relationship to Him. All that changed when Adam and Eve fell into deception, rebelled against God losing their authority to the evil one until Jesus came. He, as the Son of Man, bought back-paid the ransom so to speak- to restore Mankind’s breath of lives to all who choose to receive Him and the payment He made. Since the payment and the Man who made it can’t be separated, the rate of exchange here is His life for ours. And once we make the great exchange, through the renewing of the mind we once again can become a proper speaking spirit, speaking intelligent words of life in agreement with Life Himself. [And as I added earlier, it also requires the transformation of our hearts, and that takes time.]
And now, this is all I can write intelligently! So hopefully, there will be more insights into this process in future blogs, and for this I’m very much looking forward since the greater the understanding we receive of God’s higher ways for us, the greater the ability He gives us to begin walking it out in our daily lives....and really, who’s not interested in having more Life, more victory and more peace. Sounds, well, heavenly to me!
