Olam El

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

Olam El!  What a magnificent name for God!  It's a name that is rarely mentioned, but one with great significance.  I'm going to share a link which will give definition to  the beauty, life, freedom and power that's  within the name Abraham used to describe the Eternal God. And what a discovery it is!  And again, as in all the names used for God, having understanding of what's in the name enables us to embark on the journey of receiving  by faith  all  that the name implies.

While watching "The Power is in the Glove" (what I thought was today's video for Give Him 15 by Dutch Sheets,)  I was so deeply moved by recceiving what I needed  personally today--a renewed hope and expectation for my future--that I didn't hear the part  where Dutch spoke about and prayed for Afghanistan and its people and all that had taken place there. I only heard it the second time I watched and listened because I didn't  want to miss  amything the LORD had for me!  You can imagine my puzzlement when I went back later to copy the link so I could add it to this blog and  discovered it wasn't the video made for today, September 12, 2022, but it was made for September 2, 2021,  a year ago! It took a moment for the infomation to sink in when I saw that the video for today's date had a different title  and that I had "mistakenly" watched another video instead! Thank God once I returned to my senses, it didn't take long to find the one I had watched  earlier and it was not a mistake at all, but was the Holy Spirit leading me where I needed to go.  How much more am I convinced that  becaue of the Father's great love  the Holy Spirit  moved on my behalf to see to it that I received what I really needed today!  WOW!

In light of what the greater understanding in the definition of the Name, Olam El, did for me, all I could think to do was share it here today in case, by the hearing of it,  hope would be restored to others who may be in need of a loving touch from God that only Olam El  can bring. So...

Without further delay, here's the link to Dutch Sheets', Give Him 15 "The Power is in the Glove"  and I  trust the Holy Spirit will touch you wherever you need to know the Everlasting God  the most today.

Please note:  Though the video is about "taking out" spiritual giants,  the information  concerning Abraham  and his use of the name Olam El   is what is pertinent to this blog post.

Follow-up to: Just Show Up? Really.

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

This is a follow-up to my last post:  Just Show Up? Really.

This morning I watched a short sermon clip on Youtube of Pastor Bill Johnson, of Bethel Church in Redding California, teaching something very interesting and enlightening.  It was to me especially because it brought some clarity to the transition I'm cycling through in this season. He was comparing the extremes between receiving as a child  through rest and receiving through the violence of taking by force using our faith.  He said when receiving as a child it relates to learning about our identity  while  taking by force relates to using our authority.

The transition for me in this season is learning to be prepared to do either at a moments notice. This is the nature of  spiritual warfare. As I wrote in my last post, I was worn out and had used up all my resourses.  Truthfully, I was having a difficult time distinquishing  the difference between resting properly and  quitting all together. I hadn't been wise in understanding the absolute need to rest as necessary in order to proceed with strength besides not understanding how much more I was relying on myself than I realized. It was that last unconquered area of self reliance that had to be dealt with.

Years ago after having read Psalm 110:3 I committed myself to be a volunteer in the day of his battle and that desire has never left me. I was concerned I'd be as a deserter and unfaithful to my calling even as the men of Ephraim were if I didn't constantly stay at it.  We're told God was not pleased with them because though they were armed they turned back in the day of battle. Though my heart sincerely desired to stay active and engaged, my human ability could never attain to the high standard I had placed on myselft.   And that was the key, "the standard I had placed on myself."

Once I literally cried out to the LORD in admission that I could NOT go any further, and all the turmoil had ceased,  and I could hear His gentle voice within, I was enabled to do what He said to do, "Go in the strength you have."  This is what assured me that I could go on in His strength alone.

We all can come  battle weary in stressful seasons especially in extended, unsettled times such as we're living in these days. Problem is, exhaustion can make us a little  bit..well..."crazy"!  We sometimes just can't think clearly, and that's when we need help greater than ourselves.  And thank God, we  can call on Jesus and He WILL answer. And I feel impressed to add: If you've never asked Him to come into your life, you can ask Him right where you are. It's this simple, ask Him to come and live in you and take your life and do something with it. I promise He will do it.  At the end of this entry I'm going to give several phone numbers to ministries I trust  where people are available to pray for you and help you know what to do next.

So, here's the link to Pastor Johnson's video clip, To Rest or to Fight I mentioned earlier. I trust this short 6 minute, powerpacked message will be a blessing to you as  it was for me in whatever circumstances you're having to deal with.  It might help to clarify whether or not you should "come out swinging" or simply rest and trust!...as he mentions in his message.

Just Show Up? Really.

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

"Back in the day" whenever that day was,  I recall some who hosted what was called a "Come As You Are Party." As the title suggests, it was an improptu party where people  came dressed in whatever they were wearing at the time of the invite.  I thought of it because of the decision I finally came to this morning.

Around the globe, we're living in such a chaotic time where each day seems to require more effort to  make it through than the day before.  So what do we do when our best efforts and all our reserves of strength and internal fortitude have been used up and are failing us?  I was there this morning.  I really had reached that place and was pouring it out to my Father....and after a moment or two of silence before Him,  I was somehow enabled to make a decision even after considering all my weaknesses and  seemingly insurmountable issues.  I decided I could just simply...show up.

Though nothing really changed, my desicion made a difference and I knew it. Then  a few moments later-even as God had spoken to Gideon-I heard the voice of the Spirit say quietly within "go in the strength you have". That confirmation from Him made all  the difference.  I knew it would really be okay just to show up despite how I may be looking or feeling, just like going to a Come As You Are party.  I knew from past experiences that if I'd show up where I was suppose to,  He'd show up, too!

At times just showing up really is enough and that's a miracle in itself.  I came to this point with this blog entry yesterday. After making several attempts to end it,  I knew I didn't have the true reason why just "showing up" is so important  to our God.  I knew I had to see it from His perspective so the following is what He showed me early this morning:

By choosing to show up, we're reaffirming our committment to stand with and honor Him not in words only, but also in our actions.  Since He's already promised to remain with us,  as well as stating in Hebrews 13:5 will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you;” our loyalty to Him satisfies His heart in a very special way as we actually stand with Him in our weakest, most vulnerable seasons.

"Thank You, for your lovingkindness to us your children who always gives us strength to stand...for after all Your Presence with us IS that enabling strength!"

A Tribute

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

As I lying in bed in the very early hours of this morning,  a poem I had written in the late 70's rose up within me.  Though at the time it seemed to be "dark" to some who read it, I remained undaunted and kept it as it was  since I had a knowing on the inside that it was as it should be.  And now, since we live in a time I thought I'd never see, where so much hardship has been experienced by so many worlwide, the poem has proven to be prophetic.

So today I share it here as a tribute to all who've suffered much with the hope that it will offer encouragement to hang in there one more day and then...do it again the next day knowing that as we choose to trust God in spite of it all, we can put Romans 8:28 to work on our behalf. He really can and will make all things work together for good as we choose to trust Him through it.  And do take note that where  the word "Gold" is metioned in the following, it's merely a metaphor for our faith and trust in God as it is being purified by fire.

[P.S.  added June 24, 2022]  To be perfectly clear,  it is God Himself through Jesus Christ Himself who is our "Gold".  Afterall, what good would it be if our faith was tried by fire based on anyone less  than Him who is the author and finisher of our faith?

A Surly Cloud

 Fear not should some,

surly cloud hail your door,

for oft' times

 life's dearest treasures hide

behind its burly core.

Don't shrink away

in fear

or dread,

for masks these beasts do wear,

to hide you from

the truth

they hold,

to keep your chambers bare.

So clothe yourself

with courage

and strength

standing within  its train,

for when it's  passed

Your Gold you'll find,

did keep you well sustained.

Another Decree

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

And I also decree

God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. Has He said and will He not do it? Or has He spoken and will He not make it good?  Therefore, I am fully persuaded that what He has promised  He  will also do.  (Based on Numbers 19:23 and Romans 4:21.)

My Decree

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

My decree:

Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my Salvation. The LORD God is my strength, and He wil make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places.   Habakkuk 3:17-19

And so shall it be.

A Prophetic Decree

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein

According to the original  Hebrew in Genesis 1:3, God said, "Light be, and light was." And yes indeed, Light was! even though He didn't create the sun and moon to give light to the earth until the 4th day.  Genesis 1:14-19.  It was He who is Light that had caused the light to be.

Because on the inside, I heard Him speak a word to me--and with it His heart for  this hour in which we live-- therefore, I make the following prophetic decree today in agreement with Him:
LIGHT BE!

LORD, so let it be done in accordance to Your word and Your will!  Shine Your Light in this present darkness, causing it to flee once again, separating the darkness from the Light so all can see who You are and how You alone have created things to be!  Yes,  so let it be done even according to your word.

Hearing, Listening, and Hearing

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

Today, for the first time here (Sealy, TX), I took my morning tea out on our little balcony at  the prompting of a still, small voice within. I'm so glad and thankful that I listened!  It was the loveliest morning of its kind I've experienced in a very long while. A gentle  intermittent breeze with spring flowers in bloom mixed with the sound of birds singing  songs of thanksgiving to God made a lovely start to a beautiful day! It was transporting! And how do I know they were singing songs of praise and thanksgiving?  I asked Holy Spirit what they were saying. I wasn't certain I'd get an answer, and laughed at the thought that I actually asked. Not surprisingly though, He answered, and with the words He spoke came a revelation of His heart: He delights in their songs of  pure, innocent praise unhindered by the guilt of  the knowledge of sin--because they didn't,  Adam did...that's the reason certain birds and animals could be offered to atone for  man's sin until Jesus paid the ultimate price for all who would receive Him.

Yielding to spending my morning in a different way wasn't as easy as it should have been because I'd fallen into a routine, actually a rut. I had become entangled in a routine that had become as much work as it was pleasure and I didn't know how to change it even though I desired to.  I missed the more intimate times we once shared and yielding to the simple suggestion of sitting outside on the balcony was a breakthrough indeed for me.  Surely Jesus Himself released a sigh of  relief as I let go of my Martha attitude

The first step to the breakthrough came by  hearing what was softly said on the inside and deciding to follow it through. Once I was outside I was focused on hearing anything He had to say, so when He started speaking, I listened.  The rest of the conversation just flowed naturally.  It was so lovely!  And because we both were freely sharing with each other, He was free to share His heart  which was to my great delight.  When hearts are not shared, the conversation is not intimate.

At this point, I want to share the steps which made it possible. It was only afterward  while I was giving thought to the whole scenario that the steps became crystal clear. He made it so plain...and it's so simple!   Here they are:

    1.   I heard the still, small voice within and acted on it.
    2.   When He started speaking, I gave my full attention to listening to Him.
    3.   Because I listened,  I was able to hear not only His words but His heart.

This is simplicity itself.  No wonder  Jesus said a number of times, "He who has ears to ear, let him hear."   We just need  to have our spiritual ears on and activated!

I must let you know now, too, that the Holy Spirit has been specifically working with me for a number of months to bring me back to this place.  AND In order to hear a "still" small, quiet, voice you have to have a measure of peace and stillness  within.  Thank God for His faithfulness in bringing me to a new beginning in this most important  area. Actually, did I say months?  Well, uh...that's not exactly correct. My last 3 journals were given names by the Spirit: The first: Uncomplicated, then Uncomplicated with the addition of "uncluttered", and the 3rd named Uncomplicated, uncluttered=the simplicity  that is in Christ.  The last 7 months have been intensive training, and I trust it's finally becoming part of me in a practical way!

And now, the rest of the story which was the precursor to all that I'm writing about today  happened about 2 months  ago.  I wrote about it on this blog, but I had no idea of the part it would play  in my heavenly Father's plan of restoring my soul by introducing me to true beauty again after enduring such harshness and loss. I'll let the first paragraph of my, March 12, 2022, post titled,  "What Manner of Men Are These?..." tell this part of the story. *(To hear the song, click the above link, then the click on the  photo  on the page)

I just listened to something so very beautiful, something that touched my heart so deeply, it brought me to a depth of tears I've never experienced before. Not that I haven't been significantly affected by beauty in the past, but this was different, uniquely different.  It was spiritual.   Spiritual in the way I was overcome with a praiseworthy  thankfulness to the Most High God for having created men with such creative ability, men created in His own image. Actually in this case, by creating men to be  the very instruments themselves that praised Him, intentionally or not, because it was He who freely gave the gifts which enabled men to become such! My spirit's recognition of this caused my heart to burst forth in thanksgiving that could only be released in a healing flow of tears.

I didn't fully understand what happened to me that day, all I knew was that it had been unique in quality with a depth of spirituality that I hadn't experienced before, at least in that way. I thought for a while it was only to reintroduce  me to a form of beauty that I'd loved since I was a child to help heal my frazzled soul. Though no one in my family was accustomed to listening to that kind of music, I just "happened" onto it one  day and was captured by it.  It awakened a part of me that I didn't know existed before that moment. And the day I heard Il Divo perform "Unchained Melody", I was drawn into a depth of awe inspiring beauty I hadn't experienced before.  It was only later when I yielded to the gentle voice of the Spirit calling me outside on the patio  for a visit did I began to realize He had begun wooing me back to Himself, but far better, and deeper, and higher and far lovelier than  before, and indescribably exquisite.

Are all the times I visit Him like this?  No.  But all my times with Him are far better than they've ever been before.  It's what I believe He's calling us all to so we'll be strengthened and renewed to finish the work He's called us to. He's bringing us all into a realm of living in a heightened awareness of His Presence within. It's a place where we'll not  only rely on reason and logic  as we have in the past, but on revelation from Him  which gives us great advantage,  and I mean GREAT ADVANTAGE over our adversary.  This can only be accomplished by living more out of our renewed spirit which has a hotline to the Spirit of God,  rather than our own natural reason and logic regardless of our brilliance, or perhaps, even our lack of it. This advantage can and will sustain us even through surprise attacks as we simply remind ourselves that the Greater One is with us even though turmoil and uncertainty may suddenly surround us. I'm discovering more and more the wonderful benefits of getting to know Him more intimately--and actually, that alone to me, is the greatest benefit of all!

I'll close with one last reminder. God will NEVER force His will on us, that's the tactic of the enemy of our souls.  He has given us the privilege to choose to rely on Him or not.  Personally, I believe anyone who chooses Him over their own reason and logic is quite brilliant indeed!

* (to hear the part of the song that especially "got me", listen for the increased presence of  the baritone voice at about the last quarter of their performance)

More About Hearing

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

I'd like to share again about the importance of hearing what  the Spirit of the Lord  is saying to us individually.  I don't think we've ever lived in a time where the value of what He has to say to us on a personal and intimate level has  been greater  than  the  days we're living in now.  Who else knows us like God?  Who else knows what we as His individual children are called to be and do?  When we must make decisions, small and great, who better can we trust but His Spirit who lives within us and loves us with an everlasting love!

Even if we've relied largely on hearing in the past, as we mature In Him, we have to understand and trust on a higher level than we had to before.  Now, even as the fig tree "spoke" to Jesus, probably saying something like "There's no fruit here to nourish You!  Similarly, the negative circumstances in the world speak to us, perhaps saying, "Things aren't going to get better for you, you're just going to have to live with it." Jesus knew how to  answer the fig tree and we must learn to answer such threats to us as well. To answer these questions we must have answers. To have answers, we must know what God is saying to us through His written Word and His spoken Word. We also need to better understand  the ways He speaks to us personally when it's just  me or you alone with Him and in need of  comfort and some real answers.  And I'll boldly say that the same anointed Spirit who lived in Jesus lives in those of us who've received Him and He KNOWS  exactly how to help us with it all.

All I know is I need to hear Him more clearly than ever. My desire is to hear Him with greater acuity and clarity! It's a necessity for me in order to live in  the kind of peace that only He offers.  I want His peace to direct my life and for that I need to hear His voice more clearly.  I write  this today to share what I've received from Him and to encourage you to keep going back to Him over and over to hear  and  receive what He wants to say to you personally.  In the same vein, I want to also share a link to a Kenneth Hagin teaching which strengthened, clarified and solidified my understanding and offered me great encouragement.

I keep hearing the phrase, "recurrent training", so it seems right to give voice to it now.  Here's the understanding that came with it as a reminder. We can go through seasons when we apply faith principles regularly, but while we're growing In Him and while life's circumstances change, and time moves on things can slip a little at a time. Thus, the day will come when we must not only take a deeper look at them, but also advance in our understanding and application of the basics regarding those principles.  I believe hearing is an area where many may need this kind of recurrent training.  So  along with this post, I'm changing the "Featured Post"  on this blog to one I re-posted in October, 2021 titled, "It's All About Hearing" repost.  Reading it again encouraged me,  and I trust it will do the same for  you.

(Added January4, 2024) So without further ado, here's a link to another most excellent video on "hearing" by Kenneth E. Hagin since the original is no longer available. I trust you'll find this teaching, Steps To Hearing God's Voice, both encouraging and helpful.

Blessings to all.

What Manner of Men Are These?...

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

Actually in this case, by creating men to be  the very instruments themselves that praised Him intentionally or not, because it was He who freely gave the gifts which enabled men to become such! My spirit's recognition of this caused my heart to burst forth in thanksgiving that could only be released in a healing flow of tears.

As I mentioned, this isn't the first time an appreciation of beautiful music has brought me to tears, but this was a  "once in a lifetime  experience", so far, and I don't expect it to be the last since I've experienced a breakthrough!  I believe this happened because of the harsh experiences we've all  had to live through the past number of years.   And  "healing flow of tears" was used intentionally, though it doesn't appear  the world has changed, and though it may stay discombobulated  for a while,  I believe we've entered a time of God's grace for healing,  restoring and strengthening us His children.  I know I'm a candidate and plan to receive all He wants to do in me, with me, for me and/or through me.  And who wouldn't enjoy more Holy Spirit led discovery of "what manner of men" we are meant to be?

And though He used the beauty of music for me,  I trust whatever beauty that will touch your unique, one of a kind soul and spirit to the core will come swiftly.  It was such a surprise today when this happened for me....it was indeed a suddenly! and a very good one! It awakened a desire to purposefully look for things like it.  I had gotten so use to the daily grind, I had lost touch with a part of myself  that brought me great pleasure since I was a child.  How lovely is our God to cause such things to come alive again!   O, how I believe He really is causing these dry bones to live again!

I'm closing this blog entry today with the music that God used to  breathe fresh life into my soul and trust He will do the same for you in the unique way you need it...even if you don't know what that particular thing  is.   I sure didn't!

Sliding Up!

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

Years ago I wrote a small collection of poetry and prose which I entitled Rising.  The selection I want to share with you today is "Sliding Up!".  The inspiration for the title came from a Holy Spirit led introspection of my heart. This was my introduction of seeing into  things hidden  there, and what I was shown wasn't pleasing to Him or me. And I smile now as I write this because I was SO shocked to discover I needed this kind of cleansing! After all, I was a Christian who was a good person.  I had accepted Jesus and was doing all the right things as far as I knew.  And I was NICE! How could such a thing be hidden in MY heart? I was truly shocked!   O my, and now I'm chuckling out loud because I remember that day  and recall the feelings so clearly.

Needless to say I had no  real understanding that though I had become a new creation in Christ Jesus,  the part of me that had been made NEW was my SPIRIT only!  I had no understanding that  my mind - my thinking and understanding -  had to be renewed and brought in line with being a child of the King and my birthright had forever changed! And is it not wonderful to have our very own instructor who will teach us all things concerning the abundant life that Jesus Himself came to give us?!

I eventually got over the shock of having discovered I was still in need of transformation,  and  here's the poem that agrees with that:

Sliding Up!

It seems to be impossible to do such a wonderful thing,
But when the Lord is healing, it's the natural nature of things.

You start out by sliding, going on
                                                                              d
                                                                                 o
                                                                                   w
                                                                                      n
it's true!
But when the work is finished,

                                                    U!
                                               O
you'll find a bigger better Y

And after all these years,  I still need to go through this same process both when I recognize something that's just not quite right, or when Holy Spirit shows me.....the difference now is, I'm not shocked.  I must admit that at times I've been totally surprised when I "see" what He shows me, but the truth remains that things are always better and brighter afterwards.

At this point, I feel impressed to share a Word the Spirit gave me this past year which I grew to understand is a key  which when actively applied, produces quick results.  Once we grow to trust Him implicitly and know He will NEVER  harm  us in any way, we can give Him carte blanche (unrestricted power to act at one's own discretion; unconditional authority) over our heart.  When we come to this kind of reliance, trust and intimacy with Him, we can rest assured we will be rewarded with His kindness and faithfulness to help in any and every area of our lives.

Here's what He said to me:

Honesty to honesty, truth to truth, grace to grace, glory to glory.

These  words are the process which  depend on us taking the first step, the honesty step,  which includes being open about everything which concerns us.  He will take us through the rest as we continue to  cooperate with Him  and walk with Him.

I'll end this blog with a simple wrap-up  of what He said in a few, power packed words:

      Honesty to Honesty: open and bare; nothing hidden, except to be made known  Mark 4:22

      Truth to Truth: you will know the truth and it will make your free  John 8:32

      Grace to Grace:  he who receives an abundance of grace will reign in life...Romans 5:17

      Glory to Glory: we are being changed from glory to glory into His likeness  2 Cor. 3:18

2 Corinthians 4:7

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
 that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

America The Beautiful!

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

Today I'm posting a link to another video from Dutch Sheets.  It really does speak for itself by  title and content. My hope is that anyone visiting here might see something they haven't seen  before, or hear something they haven't heard before about the true beauty on which The United States of America was built.

I present to you the YouTube link to watch:

Receiving Paul's Prayer

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

While I was reading this morning,  I came across a treasure I want to share with you.  I must admit that reading it today was like the first time, though I had  read it before in  The Passion Translation,  because I had "boxed it in"  with green ink... and starred the corners!  But today the words seemed to come alive and pierce my heart, and by faith I say, there they will remain producing like fruit of itself.  That's what the Word does when received and kept alive through faith.  So now,  the verse is underlined with red ink, starred and noted with these words which seemed to amplify them even more once I read what I had written:

* First and foremost seek this!

Here's the verse I'm speaking of:

Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.  Ephesians 3:17  TPT

Since the verse is taken out of context, it would be most beneficial to read the full passage concerning the Apostle Paul's prayer for the Ephesians.  Here's the link for verses 3:14-20.

I trust  the inherent power within His word will produce an abundant harvest of His love in us all, healing our hearts and lifting us out of the pain and sorrow of the past season.

The Blessing of The LORD on all who will receive it!

2 Corinthians 4:7

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
 that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us

What? A Speaking What....?

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof;
the world, and they that dwell therein.

In light of yesterday's post Reclaiming Our Voice it seemed good to share a slightly edited re-post of a re-post from my original blog in 2013 when the subject of the authority and the power of words began to take root in me. I so much enjoyed what I discovered,  I thought perhaps some of you may find it helpful, or at the very least interesting.   So without further ado,  here in part is,  A Speaking What?

A Speaking What?
I’ve been looking forward to this entry for a while but wasn’t certain how to present it, but since it’s such a foundational truth (as far as I’m concerned) if we’d like to understand more about how God created man to function in His Likeness, I decided it’s time to go for it.

In my June 25, 2013 entry entitled  Three Lives? I posted some information regarding the plural form of the word “life” which was used in Genesis 2:7.  Here’s the original King James Version of that verse:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
And here’s how it reads if you replace the word “life” with the plural form as it is in the original Hebrew:
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives; and man became a living soul.
So man became a “living soul” once God breathed the breath of lives into him making all 3 parts of man-his spirit, his soul and his body-one living being created in God’s own likeness.  Genesis 1:1 confirms through the Hebrew translation this very fact.  In sharing what Derek Prince wrote in his book War in Heaven,  I wrote that  plural nouns or pronouns normally require a plural verb, but in Genesis 1:1 this is not the case at all:
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth (my emphasis).
Here, “God” is plural (Elohim) while “created” is singular establishing God as a Triune Being though functionally One, so in His likeness He created man to be as He was and is. Unfortunately this oneness-along with the complete contentment and satisfaction within their whole being because of their union with God-ended with Adam and Eve’s choice to follow the deceiver’s voice rather than God’s.

I’ve written all this in order to share another discovery found in those few words contained in Genesis 2:7, but first I want to say how captivated I am by the precision of it all-the amount of revelation packed in such a few words-how interesting, and very impressive in design has everything been laid out, both in the actual creation and in the use of words to describe it accurately!

Now, finally, another secret intimated in the use of the words “living soul” in Genesis 2:7.  This bit of information comes from The Stone Edition of the Chumash, a Hebrew commentary which includes comments from the Sages-Jewish scholars.  I’d  heard of this particular reference from several sources over the course of a few years before I decided to look into it and see for myself. The following is what I found. One of the Sages writes that the soul mentioned in verse 7 was made a “speaking spirit”, because only God could “blow” into man a rational soul which includes intelligent speech.
Once again, here’s the verse as it is written in Genesis 2:7  KJV:
     And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils
     the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Here’s what it looks like with the inclusion of the information we’ve discovered:

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his                                      nostrils the breath of lives; and man became a speaking spirit (emphasis mine).
This information confirms  to me that we, Man, were indeed created in God’s likeness, having been given dominion and authority  as stated in Genesis 1:26-29.  And how else was man to have dominion over the earth and the creatures God created, except by speaking words even as God created everything by speaking words?   End of re-post.

 All I know is this: I want to give Him all the room He needs in order for me to be a proper speaking spirit so I can partner with Him. I know this requires us to allow the old nature to have no place in us so we can live continually out of our reborn spirit which is fully capable of being filled with the new wine that the old wine skin can not contain.

I'll close this post with something the Spirit said to me December 6, 2020:

     A born again speaking spirit's mouth is only satisfied with words spoken
from a heart established in righteousness.

And that pretty much settles it for me.
