Acknowledge Him: Timely Devotional by Derek Prince

Psalm 24:1

The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world,

and they that dwell therein. KJV

Years ago I looked forward to Derek Prince's weekly radio broadcast where he taught on the same topic Monday through Friday.   Though they lasted only 15 minutes, they were a power-packed and anointed  daily teaching of the Word of God characterized by his unique authoritative, yet gentle delivery.  It is no wonder to me that his ministry still continues  today even after his departure.  I believe that anyone who reads and perhaps listens to the following weekly devotional will see how timely his messages still are today.

The following devotional is used by permission from Derek Prince Ministries.

Acknowledge Him

Proverbs 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.     KJV

Do you want the assurance that God is in control of your way, your life? That He is directing and guiding your decisions and ready to solve your problems?

Those words are the key to that assurance. “In all thy ways acknowledge Him,” that is, the Lord. At every pause, at every turning point, at every moment when you can, relax and just breathe for a moment, and you are not pressed for some particular decision.

Acknowledge Him. The best way to acknowledge Him is simply to thank Him. Thank Him that He is in charge. Thank Him for His faithfulness. Thank Him for all the help that you have received from Him in the past. Thank Him for His wisdom. Thank Him for His power. As you thank Him, you are acknowledging Him. You are continuing to have Him in control of your life and your situation. And in that way you continue to have His guidance and direction.

Acknowledge Him every moment just with a brief prayer, a brief “Thank You, Lord. Thank You that You are in charge of this situation. Thank You that You have the answer to this problem. In every step, Lord, I acknowledge You. Every question I bring to You. Every decision I submit to You. Thank You, Lord, that You’re in charge. Thank You that You are willing to accept responsibility.”

When you acknowledge Him like that at every step, you can be sure that He really will direct your paths.

--  Conclusion of  Mr Prince's devotional  --

In these last of the last days in which  we find ourselves living, with all the pressures which are inherently associated with this prophetic time, assurance from the Word is vital.  The eternal Word of the Living God has such wondrous ways of providing greater depth, strength and comfort to us with sometimes already familiar Words and Mr. Prince's simple, but straightforward teaching imparted this to me.  I trust God to bless, strengthen, and comfort you as well, since we've never been this way before.  And since we haven't, the Proverbs 3:6 teaching  seems especially relevant.

In concluding this post, I'm sharing the scripture the Spirit brought to mind as I was reading the devotional again yesterday:

Matthew 11:28-30 The Message (MSG)

28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God
