He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God?
Micah 6:8
This morning it seemed good to me to add more emphasis to the word, recompense which was used in my post on Sunday, January 7, 2018, entitled From Attrition to Recompense. To see it look to the right of this post and click on Featured Post.
So here we go with defining!

Recompense: Webster's Dictionary 1828 - Online Edition
American Dictionary Of The English Language
REC'OMPENSE, verb transitive
1. To compensate; to make return of an equivalent for any thing given, done or suffered; as, to recompense a person for services, for fidelity or for sacrifices of time, for loss or damages.
The word is followed by the person or the service. We recompense a person for his services, or we recompense his kindness. It is usually found more easy to neglect than to recompense a favor.
2. To require; to repay; to return an equivalent; in a bad sense.
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Romans 12:17.
3. To make an equivalent return in profit or produce. The labor of man is recompensed by the fruits of the earth.
4. To compensate; to make amends by any thing equivalent.
Solyman - said he would find occasion for them to recompense that disgrace.
5. To make restitution or an equivalent return for. Numbers 5:7.
REC'OMPENSE, noun1. An equivalent returned for any thing given, done or suffered; compensation; reward; amends; as a recompense for services, for damages, for loss, etc.
2. Requital; return of evil or suffering or other equivalent; as a punishment. To Me [God} belongeth vengeance and recompense Deuteronomy 32:35. (emphasis and [GOD] mine
It's always good to remember with scriptures concerning vengeance as the one above, God loves and is FOR mankind, that's why He sent Jesus His only son to become recompense, to take on Himself what we deserved. The invitation is still open for anyone who wants to receive Him and all God has to offer His beloved children. The vengeance is for Satan and his minions who hate us. And it seems so very reasonable to me to choose The One who LOVES US!
Here's another complimentary scripture the Spirit opened up to me this year regarding NOW as the time and season for recompense (and more) to come to pass.
Psalm 102:12-13 NASB
12 But You, O Lord, abide forever,
And Your name to all generations.
13 You will arise and have compassion on Zion;
For it is time to be gracious to her,
For the appointed time has come.
So, I close with this encouragement, God's part is to bring it to pass. Our part is the same as what Jesus told Jairus to do, "don't be afraid, believe only".... no matter how things look.
Psalm 78:72
... He shepherds me according to the integrity of his heart,
And guides me with his skillful hands (emphasis and personalization, mine).
